It’s the first Monday in September,
which means that it’s Inspiration Monday (I didn’t forget about it this time,
since I’m craving for inspiration and motivation for studying).
Today’s guest is The Frisky Virgin
who is truly an inspirational person. She has chosen a path she’s walking on
and I believe that it’s not always easy for her; sometimes people think she’s a
bit odd but that doesn’t stop her. She sticks to her decisions no matter what
and that’s the reason why I think she’s a very inspiring person.
Here’s her view on Inspiration:
I’m so honored to guest blog on the topic of inspiration for
Starlight. She is a tremendously kind person and wonderfully supportive of her
fellow bloggers. My idea of inspiration
is probably pretty simple, but I do hope, in some way, maybe you will feel a
little inspired. So, here we go!
If you listen to the news or even to your perpetually grumpy
friends, you might think inspiration is a fading concept. And you know it’s bad when you say the word inspiration
and at least one person thought you said perspiration. Yeah, it’s pretty cynical out there. So, what do we do? How do we find the
motivation to carry on with our dreams in the face of so much negativity?
For me, inspiration is like a lone little lightening bug,
floating in the distance on a warm summer’s night: beautiful, magical, and mysterious. Raise your hand if you ever wondered whether
those wee flashes of flittering lights were really mini-Tinkerbells when you
were younger? *raises hand* And, be honest, isn’t there a small part of you still
wishing for the pixie whimsy to be true, even today? Can you find it? That little bit of wonder you had as a child
where all things were possible? Okay,
now, hold that feeling because it’s there—right there—where you’ll find the
seed of inspiration.
Now, all you have to do is look around to make that tiny seed
grow. For me, it’s the little things.
It’s the Mavericks overcoming all of the “you can’t do it”
talk to win the NBA Championship. It’s Dale
Earnhardt Jr. staying so kind and working so hard while under the biggest,
cruelest microscope imaginable.
It’s the smell of my mama’s garlic roast and the sound of my
daddy’s mischievous giggle. It’s the twinkle of stars on a cold, lonely night. It’s
cooking Thanksgiving dinner with my mama, while cheering on the Dallas
Cowboys. It’s hearing the first Christmas
carol of the season. It’s watching Miracle on 34th Street and
walking away believing there just might be a Santa Claus after all.
It’s the memory of a loved one long lost, but never really gone.
It’s taking someone’s hand and telling them they aren’t alone. It’s the warmth
of a smile. It’s lending a helping
hand. It’s the bravery of our military,
fire fighters, and police officers.
It’s failing miserably…then standing up, dusting off, and
realizing you are stronger than ever before.
It’s finding the courage to pursue your dreams. It means believing in the unbelievable, no
matter how improbable it may seem.
So, what does all of this mean? Inspiration is already all around us if
we just open our eyes, heart, mind, soul, and senses. It’s there, waiting to be
discovered once more.
